READ THE RULES
Before submiiting your entry to our open contest, please visit Rules Page  and read them carefully, enter in our contest only if you are agree with our rules.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS: To enter your submissions electronically, please visit  www.theaperturelight.org and register. Once the registration process is complete, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Simply log in to the The Aperture Light Web site to upload images from your computer. Images formatted in JPEG or TIFF measuring at least 1,000 pixels on their long dimension are preferred. Images may be color profiled in sRGB, Adobe-1998 or not color-managed. For more information on electronic submission guidelines, please contact support@theaperturelight.org

We cannot guarantee that your image will be entered into the contest if you have not properly labelled and provided detailed information with your photo.

PHOTO OF THE MONTH: To upload images to Photo of the Month Contest, visit Photo of the Month Page  and upload your entry.

PHOTO OF THE YEAR: To upload images to Photo of the Year 2010 Contest, visit Photo of the Year Page  and upload your entry and pay entry fee $10.


How to Enter?

In order to enter a photograph in the Contest, you must register as a member of theaperturelight.org using the Online Registration Form.

High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.

The Online Registration Form will require you to enter your name and e-mail address and may ask for other information, such as title, brief description of the photograph and the context in which it was taken. You must provide all information requested on the Online Registration Form and comply with any technical requirements for submitting your photo, such as format and resolution. You may enter one entry per contest.


What to enter?

Cropped photos are eligible. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including spotting, dodging and burning, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable. If our judges see that a photographer has obviously altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to move the photo to Altered Images or to disqualify it.

Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines and newspapers (except online) are not eligible. Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's copyright are not eligible.

Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographi, profane or nude content.

Judging
Judging will be conducted by the editors of theaperturelight.org. Winning photographs and selected finalists will be published in website. Decisions of the judges will be

JUDGING Contest consists of two (2) rounds of evaluation. In the initial round of evaluation a shortlist of finalist will be selected by an photographic expert, based on the Judging Criteria below. In the second round, we will select one (1) winner and two runners-up based on the Judging Criteria below. Judges will select winners from among all eligible entries based on the following criteria ("Judging Criteria"):

Judging Criteria:

1. Technical perfection
2. Composition
3. Visual Impact

Winners will be chosen and notified by e-mail and Decisions of the Judges are final and binding.


Photo of the month
On a weekly basis, The Aperture Light judges will post the best of the incoming entries on a photo gallery, visit TOP SHOT page to see Photo of the month contest finalist. The Photo of the Month winner will be chosen from the weekly finalists.

Photo of the year
Photo of the year Finalist will be announced after 15 January 2010 and winner will be announced in the ast week of January.

Entry fee – $10.

Photo of the year prizes
Overall winner will get a Kodak easy share 8 to 10 Megapixel compact digital camera.
2nd place winner will get a digital photo frame
3rdplace runner up will get a 2GB memory card
Please do not contact us about the status of entries, paid entry fee will not be returned.

Note that the prizes can be changed at any time due to various reasons. This page will be updated with prize information, so be sure and check back!
